Scowling Biden haunted by order to treat people with 'decency and dignity' as he lobs serial insults  (Fox 01/25/2022)
•
"I am not joking when I say this, if you are ever working with me and I hear you treat another colleague with disrespect, talk down to someone, I promise you I will fire you on the spot," Biden said.  "On the spot.  No ifs, ands or buts."
•
"Decency, honor, respect, treating people with dignity, making sure that everyone has an even chance.  I'm going to make sure you get that.  You haven't been getting it the last four years."
•
"You ran on a return to civility," he was told.  And then ... Biden went and characterized those who opposed his voting bills – namely, every Republican in Congress – as being in league with racists like Bull Connor and George Wallace.
•
"No, I didn't say that," Biden snapped.  "That is an interesting reading of English.  You — I assume you got into journalism because you liked to write."

Media lectures Democrats when they vote against Biden, praises Republicans when they vote against Trump  (Fox 01/25/2022)
•
Then: When Senator Mitt Romney, R-Utah, broke ranks with the party and voted to convict President Trump during the February 2020 impeachment trial, CNN host Don Lemon could not conceal his delight.
•
Lemon praised Romney for "risking the wrath of the party" and putting his commitment to "faith, duty and doing what's right" before all else.  #"It is so rare to see someone take a stand the way that Mitt Romney did.  It deserves to be seen."
•
Now: Lemon trashed Manchin and Sinema in an on-air rant earlier this month, scolding the "biggest hypocrites on the planet" for posting about Martin Luther King Jr.  on his birthday while blocking the Democrats' voting rights legislation by supporting the filibuster.
•
"For some reason they are mired in tradition...it's time to amend the rules," Lemon said...  "You're supposed to be a Democrat who espouses to the ideals of Dr.  King.  That's B.S.  and you should be ashamed of yourself."
•
Then: NBC's "Meet the Press" host Chuck Todd gleefully hailed Romney as the "president of the Republican resistance to Donald Trump" in February of 2020 for voting outside the party to convict the former president on impeachment charges.
•
Now: An irked Todd wondered how Manchin and Sinema could personally justify their decisions to not get rid of the filibuster and abandon their party just to preserve a longstanding Senate rule.
•
Then: "The View" co-host publicly thanked Romney on Twitter for breaking ranks with the Republican Party and encouraged him to challenge Trump in a future presidential run.  Behar doubled down on-air days later, remarking that "the only patriot on the right, right now is Romney.  He stuck his neck out, and the rest of them are trash."
•
Now:+ A visibly angry Behar lost it on air when asked about the infighting between progressive and moderate Democrats in Congress, declaring that Manchin and Sinema were going to be the "ruination of the nation" and were "the enemies" of democracy.
•
"The Democrats have the numbers to make it happen, but Manchin and Sinema are standing in their way.  They call themselves Democrats, and they will be the ruination of this nation.  Those two."
•
Then: CNN senior political analyst John Avalon showered Romney with praise for his speech where he defended his decision to vote across the aisle to convict Trump.
•
"That was a true profile in courage speech that we just heard.  That was the sound of a man who'd wrestled with his conscience, who tried to think bigger than partisan politics," Avlon gushed at the time."
•
Now: An irritated Avlon resorted to personal attacks of the moderate lawmakers responsible for stalling an "entire party's agenda." Avlon called Manchin a "deficit hawk who represents coal country," and suggested Sinema wasn't taking negotiations as seriously as she should.
•
"To have a prayer of staying in power, Democrats are going to need to win more swing states and swing districts..."
•
Then: The late-night "comedian" devoted an entire opening monologue to the courage Romney's displayed for bucking the party, telling his audience that the lawmaker provided a "ray of hope" and spoke the truth" before the American public.
•
"Please join me in thanking Mitt Romney for being honest, for not lying to us, for serving the Constitution...," Colbert said, before asking, "Why can't he be president?"
•
Now: Colbert labeled both the legislative filibuster and Sen.  Sinema as "anti-democratic tools" last week as he blasted her support for the former and mocked her appearance.
•
"Stop acting like the filibuster is anything other than an anti-democratic tool, which is also a pretty good description of Kyrsten Sinema."
•
Then: Washington Post columnist and frequent MSNBC guest Jennifer Rubin credited Romney for restoring faith in humanity with his vote to convict Trump, gushing over the "political martyr" in a column she wrote that focussed on the "uncommon decency and honor" he showed by walking across the aisle.
•
"His vote and more importantly his speech matter greatly, if only as reminders that every American has the capacity for greatness, the ability to stand on principle and the spine to refuse the entreaties of the mob."
•
Now: Rubin's tone was unrecognizable in a more recent column, where she wondered what Democrats are "supposed to do with someone so seemingly irrational and obstinate as Manchin?"
•
"It's time for Manchin to put up or share blame for Republicans' subversion of democracy.  Manchin's bland platitudes suggest he prefers stalemate to taking hard votes... Elevating the filibuster to the sine qua non of our constitutional system is absurd.  It is not in the Constitution."

The Dems' Exploitation of January 6 Gives Away Their Game  (JWR 01/05/2022)
•
One need not downplay the events — the horrifying image of rioters bashing police officers with metal poles, storming through the halls of Congress shouting for Mike Pence — in order to recognize Jan.  6 for what it was: an ugly but not pivotal moment in American history.  The event resulted in one direct death — rioter Ashli Babbitt was shot by a Capitol police officer — and some $1.5 million in property damage to the Capitol building; the Capitol was cleared within hours of the riot, and Vice President Mike Pence and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell promptly presided over the certification of the 2020 election.  Those who broke into the Capitol or even trespassed have ended up in jail.
•
Meanwhile, by contrast, the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020 resulted in some $2 billion in insured property damage (and likely billions more in uninsured property damage), two dozen people died, and the resultant political movement against the police led to an unprecedented nationwide spike in homicides in major cities.

Dems, media figures who rushed to judgment on Jussie Smollett called out for silence on Larry Elder assault  (Fox 09/11/2021)
•
In 2019, "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was assaulted by White Trump supporters while returning from dinner in an affluent Chicago neighborhood.  His account of the incident had gaping holes that left several questions unanswered.
•
Nevertheless, Smollett's "attack" – immediately dubbed an act of racism, dominated the coverage in many major media organizations.  Several Democratic lawmakers called for congressional action.  Media pundits said the incident was a symptom of a divisive Oval Office occupant.
•
Two years later, Republican California gubernatorial candidate Larry Elder, a Black man seeking to unseat Democratic Gov.  Gavin Newsom was publically attacked by a White person – this time on camera.
•
But despite the disturbing footage and unquestionable nature of the assault, liberal media organizations didn't seem particularly interested.
•
Mainstream outlets appeared to take their cues from Democratic lawmakers, who have chosen to stay silent on Elder's attack despite their online outrage and public condolences for Smollett in 2019.
•
"JussieSmollett is one of the kindest, most gentle human beings I know," then-Sen.  Kamala Harris wrote in a tweet at the time.  "I'm praying for his quick recovery.  This was an attempted modern-day lynching.  No one should have to fear for their life because of their sexuality or color of their skin.  We must confront this hate."

Portland riots – it is Trump's constitutional duty to enforce federal law and he should  (Fox 07/21/2020)
•
"[H]e shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed." The Constitution says that's the president's job, but we're not hearing much about that from the chattering classes.
•
We hear plenty of bloviating from the media-Democrat complex, dutifully masquerading the rioting in Portland as "mostly peaceful protest."
•
And there is no shortage of faux outrage over President Trump's purported trampling on state sovereignty by dispatching federal agents to address the mayhem.
•
The president has two principal, closely related responsibilities: to provide for national security and to see that the laws are enforced.
•
The latter duty very much includes the protection of federal property and the execution of laws Congress has constitutionally enacted to address violent crime.
•
Federal officers in Portland are not a military force.  They are deputized law enforcement agents of the Department of Homeland Security and other federal police agencies.
•
They are not, as Senator Paul misleadingly suggests, "rounding up people at will." They are making arrests based on probable cause that laws enacted by Congress have been violated.
•
To my knowledge, Senator Paul has not proposed any legislation to repeal federal penal statutes that prohibit, for example, mutilating federal property, arson, and conspiring to oppose government authority by force.
•
In circumstances where police are being targeted for assault and harassment, which includes being "doxed" by radicals who use identifying information to threaten the police and their families, it is perfectly reasonable to withhold the names of the agents – particularly when their badges and numbers are visible.
•
Notwithstanding, the political demagogues who would have us turn a blind eye to violent crime under the guise of honoring free expression, the Trump administration has the constitutional duty to uphold federal law.

The Supreme Court has ruled that state and local elected officials — not police — are empowered to determine the depth and breadth of law enforcement.
•
And the court has also ruled that the police have no legal obligation to protect lives and property.  Stated differently, the police cannot be sued for their willful failures.
•
The remedy for those failures — according to the court — is to elect different officials who will deploy police assets differently.
•
Yet, the police have a moral obligation to protect lives and property.  For what other purpose have we hired and empowered them?
•
Public dissent against the government is a core personal freedom.  It is as American as apple pie.  It was integral to the creation of our republic.

Thus, we hear that silence is violence, that being non-racist simply isn't enough and you must actively fight racism.
•
But we also hear that speech is violence, that if you oppose policies the political left supports, your words are a form of violence and you must be silenced.  The only safe path, therefore, is parroting the messages of those initiated in the religion of "wokeness."
•
Thus, we hear that individuals ought not to be held responsible for the sins of those in their racial group, and that's why it's so wrong for the police to engage in profiling.
•
But we also hear that white Americans bear full responsibility for the sins of both modern racists and historic racists, and ought to atone on behalf of their race and their country.  And if you refuse, you must be considered racist.
•
Thus, we hear that the police are the greatest threat to black Americans, and that's why they must be defunded.
•
But we also hear that police absence, a product of racism, created the conditions that originally led to higher crime rates in black communities.

Thus, we hear that the rioting and looting were exaggerated by the media, or that they were largely the product of white Antifa members.

... from every direction, there were hundreds of people barreling toward them in a scene she depicted as "pandemonium."
•
There were cars speeding up to the center – including brand new luxury Mercedes SUVs and Infiniti vehicles – with trunks popping open ready to be filled with loot, and while it was mostly young men, every ethnicity and age assaulted the building before her eyes.
•

•
Calling 911 proved to be futile.  According to the frightened Music Center owner, they were informed that police could not get to the scene, and if they were registered gun owners, they could protect their private property.
•
"There were gunshots fired, and those trying to help us had guns pulled on them.  One of the guys got out of his car and looked at my friend's baseball bat and said, 'what the f*ck you going to do with that?' and pulled out his gun.  Another friend had a gun put in his face and was called a f**got-ass b*tch."
•
Tons of bricks were also used to smash windows in and around the area.
•
... bricks are typically placed underneath trash cans earlier in the day ahead of scheduled protests, and when the looters arrive, they know where they are and put them to use to terrorize.
•
In the end, and over the course of many hours, criminals had a field day taking dozens of cellos, trumpets, bases, amplifiers, speakers, and random merchandise...
•
But if that wasn't enough, the looters also went about destroying the cash registers, smashing display cases and busting up furniture.

Mark 'Oz' Geist: Trump's decisive leadership would have saved my Benghazi team  (Fox 01/10/2020)
•
I fought to defend the American diplomatic post and CIA annex in Benghazi for more than 13 hours against a determined, organized assault by dozens of Al Qaeda fanatics armed with belt-fed machine guns, rocket-propelled grenade launchers, and heavy mortars.
•
The Obama administration's mishandling of this attack — which resulted in the first murder of a U.S.  ambassador in the line of duty since the 1970s — was a far cry from the Trump administration's decisive response to threats against our embassy in Iraq.
•
My team and I were told to "stand down" no fewer than three times in the face of what the media later called "protesters" — even as Americans, including Ambassador J.  Christopher Stevens, were being killed and maimed by the terrorists.
•
No U.S.  military reaction force was sent, despite our numerous requests for help.
•
Only by our own tenacity and courage were more than 30 Americans able to escape with our lives.
•
Failures of leadership cost lives and leave subordinates scrambling to cover for the leadership that was needed.
•
That's what we saw after Benghazi, as senior Obama administration officials insisted for days that the Al Qaeda attack, which was clearly planned and organized to kill Americans on the anniversary of 9/11, was a spontaneous protest in reaction to an amateurish "Islamophobic" YouTube video that hardly anyone had seen.

•
When Iran-backed militias and their supporters stormed the embassy grounds and Iraqi forces refused to do their duty to defend American lives and property.
•
President Trump reacted forcefully.  In roughly the same amount of time it took to the Obama administration to get an unarmed American drone over our heads as we fought for our lives in Benghazi, more than 100 U.S.  Marines were on the scene to defend the Baghdad embassy and two Apache helicopter gunships were in the air asserting American sovereignty.
•
In no small part due to that decisive reaction, no Americans were seriously hurt in the attack.
•
The difference comes down to one thing: leadership.
•
President Trump is demonstrating bold and effective leadership, whereas President Obama showed only weakness and cowardice.
•
After making sure the military was fully prepared to protect our embassy and our interests, President Trump was forthright and open with the American people.
•
He didn't try to hide who was attacking us — Iran-backed Shiite militias — nor why they were doing so: anger at American airstrikes on militants.

He said it will not only target the host countries but field new weapons that will target U.S.  decision-making centers.
•
The U.S.  insisted that it has no plans to deploy missiles in Europe.
•
A Putin spokesman said he did not name any "geographic site Russian missiles" might be aimed at.
•
... said the government does not interfere with news programs.
•
... other U.S.  sites included Maryland's Fort Ritchie, McClellan air force base in California and Jim Creek naval communications base in Washington state.

•
... Russia will aim new hypersonic missiles at the U.S.  should it deploy new intermediate-range missiles in Europe.
•
The announcement follows the U.S.' recent withdrawal from a key arms control pact.
•
He charged that the U.S.  made false accusations against Russia to justify its decision to opt out of the pact.
•
... will not only target the host countries but field new weapons that will target U.S.  decision-making centers.
•

Air Force chief details US response to Russian nuclear attack  (Fox 07/02/2019)
•
An enemy has launched a nuclear attack on the U.S.  homeland, an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile packed with destructive power...is heading toward North America.
•
Just what would the U.S.  do?
•
... in an instant, U.S.  and NATO forces would launch a massive counterattack including, as he put it, "fighters, bombers, tankers, space, command and control, ISR, cyber, special operations and aeromedical teams trained and ready for high-end warfare."
•
This kind of integrated response raises an interesting and relevant question for analysis...  what would the respective missions be?
•
Time is, of course, of the essence as millions of lives hang in the balance.
•
An enemy ICBM, after a fast boost-phase launch, will take about 20 minutes to travel through space during the mid-course phase — not much time.
•
... forward-positioned nuclear-armed F-35As ... would enter enemy airspace to instantly attack enemy air assets, but perhaps of even greater significance, destroy enemy nuclear-launch sites.
•
Should F-35s be close to the attacking country and informed of a potential launch by virtue of U.S.-gathered intelligence information, there may be time for an F-35 to attack the ICBM itself during the boost phase with missiles, guns or even lasers.
•
An F-22 would likely be launched to quickly engage any potential enemy aircraft, given that it is regarded as the best air-to-air combat platform in the world.
•
Sensors, air-to-air missiles and even dogfighting ability would help ensure air supremacy during any possible counterattack.
•
Also, its speed and stealth configuration might enable it to hit enemy targets faster than other attack options.
•
Bombers, such as the B-2, would likely use stealth and altitude to go after enemy air-defenses while themselves eluding enemy radar.
•
These air platforms could, potentially, attack enemy targets before a U.S.-launched ICBM could reach its target.
•
"The potential for ship-based lasers, electromagnetic railguns, and hypervelocity projectiles to contribute in coming years to Navy terminalphase BMD operations and the impact this might eventually have on required numbers of ship-based BMD interceptor missiles."
•
"No other nation (other than Russia) is likely to have a force with the number and accuracy of nuclear weapons needed to threaten US silo-based ICBMs in 2030, although China has the resources and technology to pose a threat by perhaps 2035 if Chinese leaders choose to expand their arsenal."
•
Homeland defense, it goes without saying, would include the use of Ground-Based Interceptors.  These GBIs would be launched into space to find and intercept attacking ICBMs.
•
... an often-cited and crucial element of the nuclear triad - nuclear-armed ballistic submarines quietly patrolling the undersea.
•
These weapons are, among other things, intended to ensure a massive "second strike" capability to ensure destruction of anyone launching a nuclear attack upon the US.
•
... to tell potential enemies contemplating a nuclear attack on the US ... "don't even think about it."
